We will be selling dresses and bathing suits at a HUGE DISCOUNT!  All Curvaceous K items are brand new with tags!

Closed but not gone

After a year and a half of serving the plus size community and doing what we could to promote healthy body image, we here at Curvaceous K have closed our doors.

It has not been from a lack of appreciation. So many of you have come to visit us not only from New York and surrounding area but from all around the world. It's been amazing.

As a small business it is difficult to compete with the bigger stores for new customers. Though we felt that we had superior product at competitive prices our inability to drawing new people to our door hurt us in the end.

We will continue to support the plus size community and promote a positive body image here and on our Facebook page and do hope to reopen sometime in the future.

We have enjoyed meeting you and hopefully inspired some of you to take a chance on yourself to look amazing in the body you have. That was and is the goal of Curvaceous K.

We appreciate all of you who have helped us these past years.

A special thank you to Gwen DeVoe, the woman behind FFFW for always having our back. To our favorite customer Claudette for always bringing the fun. To the folks at Stan Corp. for allowing us to rent their space. To Stephenie for all her help. To Jay for all she did early on. To Tasha for being a great friend with a hug always ready. When we started Curvaceous K we wanted to bring contemporary clothing to a demographic that was lacking in representation. In the beginning plus size fashion was just starting to get attention and we wanted to do our part in accelerating that attention.

Curvaceous K has had an exciting year and we have been pleased to be a part of your lives and provide you with exciting and contemporary clothing that you deserve but as many of you that follow our Facebook and Twitter know, we are struggling.

We have the clothes and the space and the knowledge to serve the plus size fashionista but what we are lacking is shoppers. We realize that part of this is that not enough women in the NY area know we are here. So to help get our message out there we opened an indiegogo account.

It is almost over but even if it ends and we do not reach our goal we ask that you spread our message and come in and shop.

Small boutiques like ours can only survive if people come in and shop. There is a lack of plus size boutiques in NY. We are one of the very few and the only one that we can find in Manhattan. There is a need and a want for our service and we want to continue to serve you and promote the plus size community.

Help Keep Us Going!

Our first year in business has been terrifying and exciting! It has been wonderful to have people come in and be pleasantly surprised that we are here! So many times we have some of you come in and say, "I can't believe you have my size! Where has this store been my whole life?" It's wonderful.

The choices for women sizes 14 and up has been, if you forgive the use of a four letter word,....slim.

As we go forward we want to make sure we can continue to represent the plus size community and bring these women the fashion selections they deserve.

We want to reach out farther and expand our presence in the city of fashion and help bring plus size fashion more into the main stream where it belongs.

In order to do this we need some help from our friends and fans.

We have opened an Indiegogo page to help with our goal. For each contribution level there are some wonderful gifts to show you how much we appreciate you.
